Medical Students
Talbot Medical Centre is involved in the training and education of medical students from Newcastle and Sunderland University.
You may be asked if a student(s) can be present for your consultation with the doctor or nurse. You may be asked to attend the surgery or if students may visit you at your home to help us with the teaching.
You are at full liberty to decline any student involvement and this will not have any impact on your care or treatment.
We are most grateful for your support and help in the education of the doctors of the future.
Thanks Drs Stone, Winfield, Parks & McCloskey
Net Earnings
NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised and the required disclosure is shown below. However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is
potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used to for any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices.
The average earnings for GPs working in the Talbot Medical Centre in the last financial year ending in 2021/22 was £45,024 before taxation and National Insurance. This is for 5 part time GPs and 2 locum GP’s who worked in
the practice for more than 6 months.
